A Book about Dying.
Preparing for Eternal Life
Author : Robert H. Kirven
Format : Paperback, 155 pages
Release date : 1997

A Book about Dying details the Swedenborgian view of the afterlife: a heaven open to all who seek it and an eternal existence that includes continuation of personal identity, reunion with loved ones, and dwelling in community with spiritual peers.
Kirven explains that the way we live now affects the way we die and the quality of our life after death. He suggests practical ways to alter our thoughts and actions to help prepare for what follows the transition we call dying.
In addition, Kirven offers practical advice on the details of dying: our expectations and fears, caregiving, hospice, NDEs, funerals, grieving, and dealing with family and friends. Drawing on personal experience with his wife Marian's terminal illness, Kirven concludes that "for patient and survivor alike, living really does continue after dying."
